ABOUT THE JANUARY 28 & FEBRUARY 25 PERFORMERS:
Joey Wright is a Juno-nominated songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and performer from Toronto. Joey is well known for his lyrical and inspired guitar and mandolin playing. He is also highly regarded for his compositions and songwriting.
Established in 2012, The Barrel Boys are a 5-piece acoustic string band based in Ontario, Canada. The band’s sound is built around rich vocal harmonies and virtuosic instrumental playing, and their unique repertoire of original material is informed by their fluency in classic bluegrass, old-time, country, and Americana. Each of the 5 members writes and sings their own songs, making for a wide stylistic range within the band’s sound. Rob Mcclaren & Kyle Kirkpatrick from The Barrel Boys will join Joey Wright for the January 28th Bluegrass Brunch performance.
ABOUT THE MARCH 24 PERFORMERS:
Mike T. Kerr and Nichol S. Robertson are two exciting and respected Canadian instrumentalists, any night of the week you can find either of them slinging guitar in downtown Toronto at the most iconic venues in town.
With their presence in town they both share a responsibility to building community and promoting the local scene, but you may also have seen Nichol Robertson out on the road in North America with Blue Rodeo, The Mavericks, Devin Cuddy, The Sadies, Ridley Bent, or Whitney Rose. Mike T. Kerr has toured and recorded with Corin Raymond, William Prince, Campbell Woods, Mama's Broke, and Willie Stratton, to name a few.
ABOUT THE VENUE
The Pilot's Lounge
Nestled in the historic Sergeants Mess Hall sits The Pilot's Lounge. This space currently serves as the bar for guests seeing a show in the 177-seat performance space at the opposite end of the venue, but comes alive in unique ways as a casual and cozy lounge and live entertainment space in 2024. Perfect for intimate concerts, comedy shows, or community events, The Pilot's Lounge is complete with an original 1960s red-padded bar and a back games room that used to be the hangout spot for soldiers when the site operated as No. 31 Bombing and Gunnery School during WWII.
