THE GLORIOUS SONS

SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 7:30PM
The Glorious Sons have resolutely manifested all of rock ‘n’ roll’s most positive principles from their very start – creativity and adventure, passion and truth, energy and expression, individuality, and spirit of community. Following a four-year journey fraught with multiple stops and starts, the Kingston, ON based band returns with Glory, an album co-produced by frontman Brett Emmons and Frederik Thaae, that fully captures the depth of their vast artistic vision. The multiple JUNO Award winning, two-time Canadian certified Platinum and six-time Canadian certified Gold rock group, have been on an incredible journey, leading to the meteoric rise of their recognition as one of the commanding forces in rock ‘n’ roll, not only at home but globally. With multiple chart-topping hits, the band has gone from headlining clubs to arenas and festival dates, steadily cementing their position as “Canada’s Best Export” (Washington Times), while garnering critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase. Glory, their fourth studio album, is out now, and features their latest single ‘Speed of Light.

THE TREWS

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 9:00PM
The Trews are many and mighty, highlighted by multiple radio hits, drawn from seven critically acclaimed studio albums plus several EPs, a pair of live records, and a retrospective. Comprised of lead vocalist/guitarist Colin MacDonald, lead guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, drummer Chris Gormley, and keyboardist Jeff Heisholt, The Trews have been one of Canada’s most successful rock bands of the past decade, earning 19 Top 10 Rock radio singles (including two #1’s) and multiple Gold & Platinum certified albums. The band has also received multiple East Coast Music Awards, a CIMA Road Gold Award, an Independent Music Award (US) in 2009 for Best Rock / Metal Song, and numerous JUNO Award nominations.

MATT MAYS

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 7:30PM
Since departing seminal alt-country collective The Guthries in 2002, Matt Mays has alternated between solo projects (his self-titled debut, the film soundtrack …When the Angels Make Contact) and band projects (the eponymous Matt Mays & El Torpedo record and 2008’s Terminal Romance). Following the dissolution of Matt Mays & El Torpedo in 2009, Mays released Coyote in 2012 to much acclaim, including a JUNO Award win for Rock Album of the Year. In 2017 Mays released Once Upon a Hell of a Time… to be followed a year later by the album’s ‘woody’ companion Twice Upon a Hell of a Time…. As the pandemic shut down touring in early 2020, Mays set up a studio in his garage and produced Dog City, an inspiring album written from the perspective of a rescue dog. In early 2021, From Burnside With Love, a live album showcasing unplugged versions of his most popular songs, was released along with a concert film of the same name
