ACCESSIBILITY

At Base31, we take accessibility seriously. We want our patrons who journey to our site to feel safe and seen. As we embark on years of revitalization, we are prioritizing accessibility and will work to ensure the event venues, art galleries and other public spaces meet accessibility standards. To date, we have made the following improvements to ensure Base31 is compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

  • All areas of Base31 are wheelchair accessible. Our main event buildings, including the Drill Hall, Sergeants Mess Hall and Lecture Hall, are being renovated to include wider doorways, ramps and automatic door buttons.
  • Accessible and gender neutral washrooms in the Sergeants Mess Hall
  • Additional accessible porta potties are on site 24/7 for site visits and events
  • The Base31 site is flat, therefore people can explore the site and its buildings without any steep inclines or declines. Our roads are partially gravel, so patrons should take their time and care when traveling across our roads
  • The Drill Hall has an accessible ramp that leads to the licensed patio
  • An accessible parking lot located in front of the Drill Hall
  • Drill Hall and Sergeants Mess Hall have accessible seating that can be booked in advance by calling the Ticketing Phone Line
  • Support Person complimentary tickets are available by contacting the Ticketing Phone Line
  • Service animals are welcome. Patrons can contact the Ticketing Phone Line and let us know they are bringing a service animal to an event

We will continue our work to ensure the property, its buildings, event venues, art galleries and other public spaces are welcoming and accessible for all.

We ask our patrons to please reach out with any feedback, questions or concerns regarding accessibility. Please contact us
