DRILL HALL
The Drill Hall at Base31 is a big stage, big sound performance space in a remarkable historic setting.
This expansive and striking venue features a soaring hangar-like ceiling, exceptional state-of-the-art sound and lighting, with the most celebrated, chart-top musicians in Canada gracing its stage. Built in 1940 and used originally as a drill hall and gymnasium for the military, the Drill Hall has a capacity of up to 1500 people.
Club reserved seating with table service, reserved seating and general admission standing ticket options are on offer in this immersive venue, with lots of room to get up and dance. Both pre-show and during the performance, patrons can expect to be welcomed to the Drill Hall’s large, outdoor, licensed patio where local food and drink vendors share their culinary specialties surrounded by picnic table seating. Or come early or stay after the concert and grab a bite and a drink at The Commissary, our vibrant open-air food + drink market.
Base31 is a canvas for creative energy with many visual artist works featured throughout the site. Inside the venue , you’ll find gorgeous art installations including ‘Birdwoman’ by SaraLou Miller and ‘Rise Up’ by Casey Watson. On the exterior of the Drill Hall, you’ll find ‘Float’, an art installation created by Rob Southcott and Sarah Cooper from Shelter Bay.
