MEET THE PERFORMERS
Cindy Matthews
Cindy Matthews began singing professionally at the age of 18. She began recording and touring extensively, immediately upon completion of her training in the Humber College Jazz Program. With dynamic and powerful vocals, and her down to earth no nonsense attitude, she has been fronting bands from all genres of music ever since. Relatively early in a burgeoning career she was offered an opportunity she couldn’t refuse, to become owner/operator of Toronto’s legendary live music art bar, The Cameron House on Queen Street West. She jumped at the chance, but wouldn’t be sidetracked completely. It was there where she continued to perform, collaborate and record with some of Queen Street West’s most revered artists. And it was there where she founded her traditional country band, local favourites and still performing, The Cameron Family Singers. Having retired from the Cameron House a number of years ago, Cindy now resides in Northumberland County where she continues to perform with her newest band, Funk Farm.
Cindy McCredie
Cindy McCredie grew up in a musical family, where she developed a love for music, learning piano, flute, and bass. At 15, she picked up the guitar, which quickly became central to her sound. Over the years, she also added banjo to her collection of instruments and developed her skills as a vocalist, bringing a warm and natural tone to her performances. With over a decade of experience playing in bands, Cindy has built a reputation for her versatile musicianship and thoughtful approach to performance. She currently performs with bands Take the Fifth, Tuborg, and Wickow, where her multi-instrumental talents and collaborative style have helped shape their sound. As well, she co-founded Cindy & Scott, a duo known for its stripped-back arrangements and tight harmonies, offering intimate performances that cover a wide variety of styles, genres, and eras. Blending folk, acoustic, and indie influences, Cindy’s music reflects a love for melody, rhythm, and harmony. Whether performing with a full band or around a campfire, she brings a grounded, approachable style that connects with listeners through simplicity, sincerity, and a deep appreciation for the craft of music.
