Hot on the heels of Base31’s announcement last week of a star-studded summer music season — which includes the Pretty Excellent Country Music Festival, the Rock the County Music Festival, nine Drill Hall major headliners, the introduction of The Commissary food and drink market, Pride programming, and the return of the Department of Illumination collaboration, Night Watch — the Prince Edward County-based cultural destination is announcing 15 summer performances in their historic Sergeants Mess Hall venue covering a wide range of genres, from folk to jazz to indie rock and more. Now in its third season of cultural programming, the 70-acre former WWII air training base will host over 100 unforgettable experiences this summer, ranging from big stage concerts to intimate performances by Canada’s top musicians, illuminated and immersive after dark adventures, a major curated open-air food + drink market, as well as public art, galleries, outdoor play spaces and programs for kids, historic tours, bespoke group experiences and branded merchandise. In 2025, Base31 will open a museum celebrating the site’s heritage and the role that it has played within the local community, the nation and globally. Visitors to Base31 can start their journey on site at the Visitor Centre, which opens to the public May 17.
