We are proud to be among several County organizations who provide an inclusive space in the community. The Base31 team and site partners will continue to make meaningful connections with like-minded people, community groups and organizations to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies.
Base31 is 50% queer-owned and operated and many of our staff members belong to the queer community.
We are proud to partner, collaborate, co-create and learn from other 2SLGBTQIA+ businesses, humans and corporations to offer a safe environment for everyone.
WHAT DOES RAINBOW REGISTRATION MEAN FOR BASE31?
It means our venues, outdoor spaces, office, visitor centre, and team reflect values of inclusivity, safety and belonging. It means that every patron, family, business and human, whether a queer ally or part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, who enters these grounds feel seen and heard.
Last week, we got the news of our successful registration. Now, we celebrate and honour Pride Month as a start to year-round inclusivity. We encourage you to get out to local pride events happening in the community and support queer owned and operated businesses in June and beyond.

June 10 – Pride & Protest: Craft Chocolate Tasting Workshop Series at Base31 – 3 – 4:30 pm
Pride started as a protest against police harassment. The craft chocolate movement is a protest against an industrial system that disempowers local communities. Happily, both groups have found joyous ways to celebrate in the midst of their struggles. We’ll celebrate the bean-to-bar movement by sampling bars that represent the ethics, sustainability and diversity craft makers hold dear. Join Base31 for this delicious and educational workshop for $48+tax.
